NEWS RELEASE
THE REEL FILM FORUM
************************
Get ready, Sault Ste. Marie — this is your chance to experience one of the most influential and uncompromising films of the 1980s in full theatrical glory, surrounded by fellow fans.
The Reel Film Forum is thrilled to announce a one-night-only big-screen presentation of Paul Verhoeven’s RoboCop — the explosive, razor-sharp blend of sci-fi, action and satire that redefined the genre when it first hit theatres in 1987.
Set in a crime-ravaged, corporate-controlled Detroit, RoboCop tells the story of police officer Alex Murphy, a good cop murdered in the line of duty and resurrected as a cybernetic law enforcer by the powerful conglomerate Omni Consumer Products. Struggling between his machine programming and fading human memories, Murphy fights back against crime, corruption and corporate greed. With groundbreaking effects, unforgettable action sequences and scathing social commentary, RoboCop remains as thrilling and relevant today as ever.
“There’s nothing else like it. It’s part action movie, part corporate horror story and part superhero origin,” says Josh Ingram of The Reel Film Forum.
The evening will feature a special guest video introduction, door prizes and bar service before the film. Seating is general admission, and tickets are limited, so don’t wait to secure your spot for this high-octane retro cinema event.
