November 27, 1930 – November 9, 2025

With heavy hearts our mother Mabel Wong passed away on November 9, 2025, about 2 weeks from her 95th birthday. She had survived our dad, Clark Wong by about 8 years and is survived by her sons William, Darrell (Vicky), Russell (Poinci), and Randall (Sara Jane). Grandmother of Christina, Dana, Rinelle, Bennett, Curtis and Matthew. Sister of George Low On and Emily Gee.

Most people remember Mom when they owned Hagger’s Restaurant which at one time was the social hub of Blind River in the 70’s and a good part of the 80’s. She also ran Ezy Wash Coin Laundry, Jean Shack, the Greyhound Bus Depot and Charlie Chan’s Funland.

Mom was a devout Christian and attended Orchard Ministries and Immanuel Baptist Church. She read her Bible regularly and was in constant prayer.

This Celebration of Life is really a Going Home party, as Mom is now rejoicing in Heaven and rejoined in Heaven with Dad. According to Mom he accepted Christ as his Saviour.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Immanuel Baptist Church, 5 White Drive in Blind River on Friday, November 14, 2025, beginning at 10am until time of funeral service at 11am with Pastor Patrick Garrett officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.

For those who wish to donate in memory of Mabel Wong they can donate to her favorite charity, SEEDS, a registered charity helping seniors and youth both locally and overseas. Cash or cheques accepted or E-transfer to [email protected]

Arrangements entrusted to Menard Funeral Home.
