Passed away unexpectedly at Hilton Beach, St. Joseph Island, Ont., on Oct. 20, 2025, at the age of 65.
Patty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Scott Waddington, and her loving father, Walter Olshansky. She is survived by her dear parents, mother Helga Ecclestone (nee Roth) and stepfather Walter Ecclestone. Patty will be missed by her surviving relatives, including her aunts and uncles: Monica and Ted, John and Lynn, Mary and Art; cousins: Sylvia, Cathy, Jenny, Peter and Clifford Adcock; and stepsiblings: Kristen, David and Heather.
Patty leaves behind many friends, grateful for having known her. Patty had a generous and kind heart. She was an outstanding woman — very knowledgeable, an electronics wizard, a great friend and good to talk to. She loved nature and animals (including hedgehogs, cats and deer), birds, photography and camping.
Patty was a proud member of the Ontario Reserve Regiment in Oshawa, along with Scott.
She had many pets over the years and was survived by Kiki the cat, who is being cared for by one of Patty’s many friends at Hilton Beach. Special thanks go to all the friends at Hilton Beach who have been so kind and helpful to Patty’s family in the past weeks.
Patty’s cremation has taken place, and her remains will be placed with Scott’s in accordance with their wishes.
