Watch this resurrected double-decker bus tour the city

It took two years to get the bus running

Did you know the snazzy double-decker bus touring the city might be the last of its kind in the world?

“There were 2,646 of this particular bus made in England, and this is the only one as of today that’s on the road in the whole world,” said Tina Smith, who provides commentary during tours.

It took two years to get the bus running.

The Big Ben bus “was here over 30 years ago and did tours in the downtown core,” Smith said.

Several years ago the bus was dismantled and left in the salvage yard until it was recently resurrected.

“We start and stop at the Bushplane Museum. In the mornings we run on the hour - at 10:00, 11:00, and 12:00. In the afternoons we run at 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30,” Smith said.

The bus goes into and around Bellevue Park and all the way down Queen Street to the Canal District.

“You can see the Locks and some of the boats that are going through. Then we come back up Bay Street onto St. Marys River Road and then back to the Bushplane Museum,” Smith said.
