Victim was punched and kicked during a break and enter: police

'The victim and three accused are known to one another,' police said

Three people were arrested on Saturday in connection with a break and enter that police said became violent.

At around 5:15 p.m., a 911 caller reported a disturbance at a multi-unit residence building in the 700 block of Wellington Street East. 

“An investigation revealed the three accused forcibly entered the victim’s unit, damaged their property, stole an item, and punched and kicked them,” police said in a news release. 

“The victim and three accused are known to one another. The victim sustained minor physical injuries.”

Bridgette Simons, 27, Tanya Simons, 48, and Travis Simons, 47, are charged with:

  • Break and Enter Dwelling House – Commit Indictable Offence
  • Mischief – Under $5,000
  • Robbery

The accused were released on undertakings and are scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 29.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
