Sault police arrested a 22-year-old woman last Thursday after an assault occurred at a business in the 200 block of Bay Street.
The incident happened at around 12:30 p.m., which is when someone called 911 to report the assault.
When officers arrived at the business they found the accused was in custody of security officers.
“An investigation revealed the accused threw a handful of small objects at a security officer when asked to leave the premises. The victim did not sustain physical injuries.”
Jessie Caithcart was arrested and is charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Failure to Comply with Probation Order
- Enter Premises When Entry Prohibited (under the Trespass to Property Act)
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 5, 2026.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
