A report about a suspicious driver has led to multiple charges.
Sault Ste. Marie Police say a 911 call came in at around 3:20 a.m. last Thursday about a suspicious driver in a parking lot in the 600 block of Wellington Street West.
Arriving officers suspected the driver may be impaired by drugs.
They say the driver performed poorly on a field sobriety test and refused an evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert.
In addition, officers say they found a small quantity of suspected cocaine while searching the suspect.
Renna Bisaillon, 37, has been charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and/or Drug
- Refusal to Comply with Demand
- Possession of Schedule I Substance (Cocaine)
- Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence (under the Highway Traffic Act)
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 29.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
