Music Readiness
- For children entering Grade 1 or graduates of the MusicTime program
- Begins the week of Sept. 15
For more than 40 years, our music classes for children have been a favourite and foundational introduction to music-making for thousands of local families.
Many former students are now enjoying the classes with their own children.
Age-appropriate musical activities introduce children to note-reading and instrumental and vocal skills through a 26-week program that has been carefully constructed for fun and success.
Don’t miss your opportunity to share the joy of making music with your child or grandchild. The special time your child spends with you learning new songs, games and instrumental skills will enrich your family life and give you inspiration for offline, unplugged time spent together, lifting your spirits and creating memories that last a lifetime.
Music Readiness prepares students for the study of an instrument or voice through developing basic note-reading and a daily practice routine. The year is divided between piano, voice, handbells and recorder, with short daily practice assignments. Students also perform in a year-end concert.
There are limited openings in Wednesday classes at 5:30 or 6:15 p.m., or Thursdays at 5 p.m.
