“Come experience a running event that shows off the North Shore of Lake Superior, where the weather may be just as big a challenge as the trails,” invited a spokesperson for the Wawa Trifecta, a weekend of running events in Wawa, Ontario.
The spokesperson continued, “This is a running event composed of three separate running events: a 6 km trail race, a 1.5 km hill climb, and a 22 km trail race. This event allows people to experience the beauty of the Wawa area during the fall shoulder season, October 18 and 19, 2025.”
On October 18 at 9 a.m., the 6 km trail race gets underway at Wawa Municipal Airport. Everyone will get a medal, and hotdogs will be distributed to all after the race.
On October 19, the 22 km trail race will get underway at 9 a.m., also leaving from the Wawa Municipal Airport. Participants will run to the Michipicoten River Village, then loop out from there before heading back to the airport. Hot dogs and medals for all will follow the race.

The 1.5 km hill climb is also October 19, beginning at 1:30 p.m. from and up Scenic High Falls Road, a hill test for everyone! Medals for all who finish and have not received one yet!
“The Wawa Trifecta isn’t just a race weekend — it’s an adventure-packed celebration of grit, nature, and community…and we want everyone to be there!” said the spokesperson.
Participants are encouraged to come for the weekend and sign up for all three of the race events, with discounted pricing for those brave souls that do so. The 6 km race registration fee is $10, the hill climb also $10, and the 22 km race fee is $20. But, the trifecta fee, for all three races, is just $30.
Students ages 10-17 can register FREE for any or all of the race events.
“We want to encourage folks to come up for the weekend, and experience the beauty and fun of the Wawa area,” said the spokesperson. “There are great places to stay, and to eat, and the beauty of this part of Northern Ontario and the North Shore of Superior is unparalleled. Come for the race and stay because you love it!”
