Peacefully passed at Golden Birches Terrace on Friday, November 14, 2025 at the age of 85 with his children at his side.

Devoted Husband of Myrna for 65 years.  Loving father of Kelly (Dominique), Rhonda Forcier, Janice Shea (Dan) and Kim Rousselle.  Proud Papa of Tiffany, Drew, late Wayne, Jennifer, Kristin, Ryan, Chelsea, Caleb, Sydney and Hailey and Great Papa of eight.  Dear brother of the late Arline, Larry and Kenny.  Brother-in-law of the late Larry, late Gail, Sandra and Darlene.  Jerry will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was a gentle, soft-spoken soul.  He had a quiet strength about him, built from years of hard work.  His work ethic was something to admire.  During his 30+ years with Commercial Construction, he received annual recognition for his safe driving practices.  He was very proud of being a business owner of K&J Construction with his devoted son and best friend, Kelly.  He often talked about being the first one at work, and the last one to leave.  Jerry was known for his love of Tim Horton’s coffee – he couldn’t pass by a Tim Horton’s without stopping in to get four extra large black coffees to get him through the day.  He also loved to reminisce and tell stories about his life back in Poplar Dale.  He was very proud of his first car, a maroon 1947 Ford and would travel to town with it filled with friends to go to local dances.  Any time someone got a new car, his first question was, “what’s the gas mileage?”  He had a quick wit and a perfectly timed sense of humour.  Jerry enjoyed the odd beer and would say “there are no bad beer, just some better than others”.    Jerry adored all birds, but the ravens were his favourite - they would tap on his truck window, knowing he would always share a bit of his lunch.  He was a devoted hockey fan, especially when it involved family.  Most will remember Jerry standing behind the glass at the Beavers games with a Tim Horton’s coffee in hand.

Ever devoted to Myrna, he would play along with all her shenanigans.  Now reunited, they can pick up where they left off, enjoying their love of music together.

Special thank you to NP Danielle Drouin and the staff at Golden Birches for providing such compassionate care.  He was affectionately nicknamed “Jerr-Bear” by staff.

Friends and family are invited to a come and go celebration of life on Sunday, November 30, 2025 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Blind River.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the North Shore Health Network Foundation would be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to Menard Funeral Home.
