Local initiative ensures no senior feels forgotten this Christmas

As the festive season approaches, one local organization is making sure no senior is left behind. Superior Staff it has launched its annual Adopt-a-Senior campaign, aiming to deliver personalized gifts and heartfelt moments to those living in long-term care.

Each year, Superior Staff it proudly partners with local long-term care homes to connect with seniors who may not otherwise receive a holiday gift due to limited family connections, financial challenges, or other personal circumstances.

The holiday season, while joyous for many, can be an incredibly lonely and emotionally challenging time for seniors, particularly those living in long-term care. Feelings of isolation, depression, and anxiety can be amplified during this season, especially when loved ones are absent. Superior Staff it’s mission is simple but meaningful: to ensure no senior feels forgotten. That’s why Superior Staff it is once again stepping up to ensure that every senior in long-term care feels remembered, valued, and loved this Christmas.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community in 2024, Superior Staff it delivered 48 personalized gifts to seniors in long-term care. Each gift, thoughtfully selected and donated, made a real difference. In 2025, they’re aiming even higher. With the support of the community, the hope is to reach more seniors than ever before and continue spreading kindness where it’s most needed.

How it works

Starting November 10th, 2025, community members are invited to “Adopt-a-Senior” by contacting the superior Staff it office. Participants will receive a wish list created by a local senior, allowing them to purchase a meaningful gift tailored specifically to that individual. Whether it’s a cozy blanket, a favorite snack, or a cherished memory item, every gift helps remind a senior that someone cares. By fulfilling one of these wish lists, a senior will gain something truly special to open on Christmas morning, and the priceless feeling of being remembered.

How to participate

  • Visit Us: Starting November 10th, come to our office at 248 Queen St. E., Monday through Thursday, between 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (closed from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM for lunch) to choose a senior from our Christmas tree.

  • Call Us: Prefer to adopt a senior by phone? Contact us at 705-450-5683 or contact Amanda Stortini at [email protected].

  • Gift Drop-Off: Please bring your unwrapped gift(s) in a gift bag to our office no later than December 15th, 2025.

More than just gifts

Superior Staff it's commitment to seniors extends beyond presents. In the spirit of holiday cheer, they will partner with local musician Matthew James, who will once again perform live music at several long-term care homes throughout December. These performances help lift spirits, create joyful moments, and bring a sense of community and celebration to the residents and staff alike.

At Superior Staff it, supporting seniors and vulnerable populations is a year-round mission. The Adopt-a-Senior campaign is just one example of how they strive to make a meaningful impact — not only at Christmas, but throughout the year.
