Bob Clark's chilling Christmas masterpiece is returning to the big screen in Sault Ste. Marie this season for one-night only.

Black Christmas will be screened on Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre’s Ranger Theatre.

"Filmed in Canada and revered as a cornerstone of the slasher genre, Black Christmas follows a quiet sorority house descended into terror as an unseen killer closes in during the holiday season. Its pioneering use of POV camera work, disturbing phone calls, and slow-burn tension continues to unsettle audiences more than 50 years later," says a news release issued today.

Those in attendance will have the chance to win an autographed poster signed by actress Lynne Griffin. Snacks, drinks, and bar service will be available on site.

Tickets cost $15 + fees and can be purchased here

Before Halloween and Friday the 13th, there was Black Christmas. Often credited as the first true slasher film, Bob Clark’s chilling 1974 masterpiece returns to the big screen in Sault Ste. Marie for a one-night-only screening presented by The Reel Film Forum on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre’s Ranger Theatre.

Filmed in Canada and revered as a cornerstone of the slasher genre, Black Christmas follows a quiet sorority house descended into terror as an unseen killer closes in during the holiday season. Its pioneering use of POV camera work, disturbing phone calls, and slow-burn tension continues to unsettle audiences more than 50 years later.

Starring Olivia Hussey, Margot Kidder, Lynne Griffin, and John Saxon, the film has secured its place in horror history. Griffin’s portrayal of Clare Harrison is tied to one of the genre’s most iconic and haunting images.

“From Olivia Hussey’s intensity to Margot Kidder’s sharp wit, and Lynne Griffin’s haunting presence, each performance brings something unforgettable to the film,” said Keith Brown of The Reel Film Forum. “To quote the film’s tagline, ‘If this picture doesn’t make your skin crawl…it’s on too tight!’”

To celebrate the event, attendees will have the chance to win an autographed poster signed by actress Lynne Griffin. Snacks, drinks, and bar service will be available on site.
