1941 - 2025
Passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at the age of 84.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Phyllis (2016). Dear father of Scott (Lindsay), Kim (Jim Thibodeau) and Chris (Anne Duncan).
Cherished grandfather of Devon, Abby, David, Cate, Mark and Vanny.
Dear brother of Eric (Mary Ellen) and Marybeth, and brother-in-law of Gloria Stanley (Callum) and Arthur Stanley (Holly).
Lawrie was a proud graduate of Queen’s and Western and contributed to a multitude of engineering and power projects from Newfoundland to B.C, and in the Arctic. He and Phyllis eventually moved to the Soo, where they spent 21 wonderful years raising a family and making life-long friends.
In later years, he built a new community in Fonthill centered around his wife, grandchildren, the church and golf. Many summers were spent enjoying family and friends at his cottage in Minden.
Visitation will be held at Pelham Funeral Home on Monday November 17th, from 6-8 pm.
The memorial service to honour Lawrence's life will take place on Tuesday, November 18th, beginning at 11:00 am at Central United Church, 12 Young St. Welland, with a reception downstairs to follow. A private interment will take place at Fonthill Cemetery.
