Break-in at vacant unit leads to charges for two people

Two people are facing charges after a break and enter at a vacant apartment in a multi-unit residential building.

Sault Ste. Marie Police say the break-in happened last Saturday in the 100 block of East Street.

It was reported early yesterday afternoon.

Soon after, police arrested two people.

Devon Reed, 27, is charged with:

  • Break and Enter Dwelling House with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order

Kelly Reed, 46, is charged with:

  • Break and Enter Dwelling House with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence

Both accused were released on undertakings and are scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 5, 2026.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
